There are generally 3 types of upgrade packages, which can be broken down into a number of capabilities and the services linked.
Basis Only technical upgrades and migrations:
Typically this upgrade will have a short timescale (upwards of 15 FTE days) and will involve simply upgrading the software on the development, test and production systems. The client will be responsible for all other aspects of the upgrade.
Managed technical upgrade:
This mid tier upgrade will take upwards of 100 FTE days depending on the system configuration and consists of program management, test management, application consultancy, training and change management.
Benefits upgrade:
This is a combination of a managed technical upgrade with a system audit and associated delivery of future benefits. This will typically take 250+ FTE days and will reduce the overall testing burden on users as the new functionality test is combined with the upgrade test.
