Apps Management in the GulfContinuing economic growth in the Gulf region has led to the rapid expansion of the local market for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications. But what of those organizations who already have and are seeking to drive the further value out of their existing ERP application? Or, those who are close to completion of their implementation and wish to have a successful structure for managing their application going forward? These organizations face a range of business and technical challenges to ensure their applications not only support the business on a day-to-day basis but also keep up with, and, ideally, stay ahead of the competition.

With IT budgets being slashed such organizations have to be able to answer some tough questions:

  • How can the application change to match current business needs rather than limit the organization’s operational choices?
  • What would be the best approach to manage the application on a day-to-day basis?
  • How can necessary adjustments and developments to the current application be captured and implemented?
  • Does the organization have the skills necessary in-house? Or should external consultants be used?

And perhaps the most important question:

  • How does an organization get the best out of what they’ve got, evolve and maximize ongoing Return on Investment (ROI)?
