“Doing business is different in the Gulf”. How many times have you heard that? What we have found is that there is little data to support the opening statement, even though it seems to be true. We wanted to understand the differences so that we could help companies to create strategies that would be robust in this business environment and reflected at the corporate world from a local perspective. For this reason we commissioned the ‘Challenge of Change in the Gulf’; a survey of Business Change, its drivers and enablers, in the region.
The Gulf is different in that it has a unique culture and a unique dependence on oil. It is soon to align itself with the rest of the world in terms of its deregulated economy. If the people of the Gulf are to succeed in the long term then they must act decisively and immediately in an informed way.
